The best of Italian tradition in Germany with Ceramics Of Italy

Ceramics of Italy recently took part in two outstanding promotional events in Germany designed to showcase the tradition, quality, innovation and creativity for which the Italian ceramic industry is renowned. At the two events, held on 25 June in Frankfurt and on 27 June in Stuttgart, Confindustria Ceramica gave German architects the opportunity to attend talks given by Italian architects and designers on the theme of architecture and ceramic tiles, followed by informal meetings with representatives of the Italian companies taking part in the events.

Twenty-five Italian companies took part in the events, where they exhibited their very best products with a special focus on large-format tiles. These companies were: Coem, Ceramiche Settecento Valtrese, Ceramiche Atlas Concorde, Fap Ceramiche, Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola, Fincibec, Casalgrande Padana, Supergres, Ceramica Sant’Agostino, Cotto d’Este, Ceramiche A.B.K., Ceramiche Lea, Sicis, Casa Dolce Casa, Floorgres, Ceramiche Cerdisa, Cisa Ceramiche, Ceramiche Marca Corona, Provenza (a Emilceramica brand), Gigacer, Ceramica Panaria, Ceramiche Keope, Kale Italia – EdilCuoghi/Edilgres, Ceramiche Caesar and Marazzi.

Organised in cooperation with the architecture magazine AIT under the aegis of the Ceramics of Italy mark, the two events explored the new frontiers of Italian ceramic tiles at meetings between architects and member companies. They proved the ideal platform for discussing the new products and applications offered by Italian ceramic tiles, for promoting networking between Italian companies and German architects and for publicising the Ceramics of Italy mark.

In the lead-up to Cersaie 2013, the two events opened the Ceramics of Italy summer season and began at 7 pm in prestigious locations in the two German cities. At the meeting in Frankfurt on Tuesday 25 June, held on the premises of Westhafen Pier 1 GmbH in Rotfeder-Ring 1, the guest speaker was designer and university professor Diego Grandi, who focused on surfaces, interior design and exhibit design. The event in Stuttgart on Thursday 27 June, held at the headquarters of Nicolay & Schartner GmbH + Co. KG in Loewntorstr. 68, hosted a talk by Michele Capuani, academic director of the IED group and founder and board member of the Cumulus project.

Following the talks given by the two designers, company representatives had the chance to meet German architects at an Italian cocktail and present their key products.
