The Florim Flagship Store and Spazio CEDIT in the heart of the Brera district
Date:April 14, 2017
Florim continues to pursue ever-closer ties with the world of Italian art and design. During Design Week, the windows of the Flagship Store on Foro Buonaparte provided the backdrop for the winning work in the Prize “CEDIT for Object”, launched in collaboration with Miart and assigned to the work of an up-and-coming Italian designer selected from the “Object” display section of the exhibition. The work was officially presented at the Florim Flagship store on the evening of Tuesday 4 April during the “Arte e Design” (“Art and Design”) event.
The Prize “CEDIT for Object” – as the result of the collaboration with Miart – was awarded to RETROSTORICO | Zuperfici Collection, 2017 of the emerging Italian designer Duccio Maria Gambi (nero design gallery of Arezzo). The winner – officially elected Saturday 1st April – was selected within the “Object” section of miart, dedicated to author and collector design.
The jury – composed by the Director of the Triennale Design Museum in Milan, Silvana Annicchiarico, the Director of the Design Museum in London, Deyan Sudjic and the Managing Director of Florim Ceramiche, Stefano Torrenti – rewarded the creation of Gambi designer with the following motivation: “For the recovery of the history of design, for the ability to communicate naturality and artificiality by combining handicraft and manual work with the industrial one.”
RETROSTORICO, acquired by Florim Ceramiche, will then be donated to the Permanent Collection of the Triennale Design Museum in Milan in order to promote culture through the support of art and design.Retrostorico Duccio Maria Gambi (pdf in Italian language)
During the same period, Spazio CEDIT provided the premiere of the two new collections styled by Martino Gamper and Formafantasma, which continue the partnerships – begun in 2016 – with some of the most interesting creative spirits on the Italian design scene. The six collections currently in the range were displayed using a high-impact concept. Is also available the new publications in the Libri d’Autore (Designer Books) series, which provide background for each collection, discussing CEDIT’s history and the Designers’ creative work, and concluding with the presentation of original images, some in context and some with a more emotional approach.
Throughout the week, the Group has been the main sponsor of Elle Decor Concept Store (Palazzo Bovara – Corso Venezia), and took part in numerous projects in partnership with other top brands in Milan’s major design hotspots: The Visit (Via Palermo – Brera), Talisman (Palazzo Clerici – Cordusio), Milan Contract District (Via Melloni – Porta Monforte), Penthouse One-11 (Via Senofonte – City Life) and CASA LAGO (Via San Tomaso – Centre).
