Although the core business of Cersaie is ceramics and sanitaryware – all spaces fully sold out three months before opening – the international trade show offers a rich programme in other sectors and areas. From vocational training to information and infotainment, a variety of workshops and cultural activities will be available throughout the five days of the exhibition.
The Architecture Gallery is popular with architects and designers who make it their chosen home. The 2016 Lectio Magistralis will be delivered by sir Norman Foster, who will be the eighth Pritzker Prize-winning architect to lecture. Many are the conferences that will take place and that will see the participation of designers and architects from all over the world. This year sees a further extension of events with the introduction of Press Cafés – places where it will be possible to discuss current issues. The AD Café, the Interni Café, and the Domus Café will be organising debates in cooperation with the different publications.
And then, for the fourth consecutive year, there’s Tiling Town – another working space conceived as a place for work in progress and professional updating. It covers AREA 49, right past Via Michelino entrance, and it’s the right place to learn everything you want about tile installation, so as to achieve the best possible results. To celebrate the quality and beauty of product design and materials exhibited at Cersaie, there’s the Adi Ceramics Design Award, a good showcase towards the more prestigious Compasso d’Oro Award – a symbol of quality and value of Italian manufacture.
Last, private parties wishing to furnish their homes with the most innovative ceramics and sanitaryware solutions will be able to live Cersaie’s 34th edition as protagonists. On September Thur 29th and Fri 30th, the best architects from twenty-six among Italy’s most famous interior design magazines will provide free consultancy to the public. So that when visiting the stands they will be ready to transform their dreams into reality.
