Abitare la Terra: the new Cerasarda project @ Milano Design Week 2017
Date:April 14, 2017
Products by the designer and ceramist Maria Luisa Brighenti – made using the cutting edge technology of Gruppo Romani Industrie Ceramiche – formed a key part of the “Superficie e danza tra geometria e colore” event, together with the 140 Ways to bend paper designed by the Atelier Blumer of the University Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio.
26 harmonic colour tones and 10 colours of Accento form Abitare la Terra by Cerasarda, an innovative project which draws inspiration from the warm, rich and generous earth of Sardinia. A stunning backdrop for the compositions created by the students from the Riccardo Blumer atelier for their public performances. Blumer and his students have transformed the limits of arm movement onto the three levels of the space, amidst the wonder of folding and unfolding geometric shapes, all different, linked by a single material, dimension and technique.
Abitare la Terra (Living the Earth) is a project by designer and ceramist Maria Luisa Brighenti which inaugurates, with an innovative new product, the Cerasarda Design section.
Abitare la Terra draws inspiration from the warm, rich and generous earth of Sardinia, to breathe life into an unprecedented collection characterised by great materiality, chromatic colours enriched by contrasts (Accento), and exclusive decorative textures. An original ceramic material which marries craftsmanship – the artist’s handmade work fits perfectly into the tradition of Cerasarda production – with the avantgarde technologies of the Romani Group. Available in a large number of modular sizes, the collection enables an infinite range of solutions for tiling floors and walls. Abitare la Terra is intended to satisfy the requirements of an international audience of designers, interior architects and private users looking for authentic materials for their contemporary living designs.
Accento is a line of saturated, brilliant colours, characterised by the contrast between a thick coloured glass surface and a satin-finish tonal base. It provides accent colours in rooms furnished with the chromatic tones of Abitare la Terra or as a collection in its own right for designing surfaces with a strong, bold character.
